With the Reno Tahoe International Airport (RNO), which sees more than 70 nonstop flights from 15 cities, about 50 miles away, a Palisades Tahoe ski vacation is incredibly convenient. You can opt to rent a car or reserve a shuttle transport to your hotel or condo. Squaw is just 96 miles from Sacramento and 196 miles from San Francisco via I-80. The resort entrance is just eight miles South of Truckee and six miles North of Tahoe City and the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, on Hwy 89.
From the airport terminal head north and take US-395 N ramp to the I-80/Reno/Sparks/Truckee exit on the left. Keep right at fork and merge onto I-580 N/US-395 N, take exit 68 B and merge onto I-80 W. Continue for about 34 miles, then exit at Lake Tahoe/California 89 S. At the circle take the third exit onto CA-89 S, then turn right onto Squaw Valley Road. You’ll then see the Olympic Towers, the entrance to Palisades Tahoe ski resort.
